FAQ’s

  • Is there Wifi available and a TV?

Sawmill Treehouse has been purpose built to ‘unplug’ and take a break from modern technology and to immerse oneself in a better connection with nature and oneself. There is no Wifi offered or TV. However there is mobile wifi available and phone service for safety purposes. There is also a small Bose speaker you can connect to for music.

  • Can children stay?

The minimum age for Sawmill Treehouse is 10 years old. This is due to safety concerns and the retreat style nature of the stay.

  • Are Dogs or Cats allowed?

We are very sorry to say that Dogs and cats are not able to stay with us. We have no fences and a lot of native wildlife that we are keen to protect.

Check out Delatite Veterinary Clinic for Pet Boarding.

  • What is the accessibility like?

Unfortunately, accessibility into Sawmill Treehouse can be challenging. The main dwelling has sporadic landings without a hand rail.  Wheelchair access would not be possible. We recommend guests with visual or physical disabilities use extreme caution and recommend assistance.

There would be access to The Barn, but it would be “off road” access, via a steep gravel driveway. Again assistance may be required.

  • Is two people the absolute maximum?

There is one beautiful queen size bed, in one bedroom at Sawmill Treehouse. It has been specifically designed for singles or couples, friends who don’t mind sharing a bed, or a parent - child stay - again sharing a bed. The couch is not designed to be slept on and The Barn is not a ‘dwelling’, thus not for sleeping.

We are currently open to a plus 1 under certain circumstances, at an extra cost. Please contact Sawmill Treehouse directly for consideration.

  • Can we have people over for dinner/BBQ?

As Sawmill Treehouse is promoting rebuilding healthy connections, we encourage small social visits. There is limited cutlery and crockery, so the maximum for a shared meal in the house would be 4. The outdoor kitchen would be a lovely spot to host a BBQ, long outdoor lunch on the landing or drinks after mountain biking etc. Again, there is limited supplies - the outdoor table only seats 4. However there would be room for up to 10 to host drinks/whilst standing or sitting on the landing. Parties are not permitted unless specifically applied for under ‘Offerings’. If you are considering a special gathering please contact us directly for consideration.

Staying at the Treehouse was honestly one of the most relaxing things I’ve done all year.
